Honored for numerous accomplishments over the years (Pittsburgh Parking Lots / Model Cities with Mayor Caliguiri, Military Services 1943 to 1976) – most recently for serving as one of the “all-black Buffalo Soldiers” – he is #13 on the 4th page of pictures in the 2010 Memorial Calendar Honoring Southwesten Pennsylvania’s WWII Veterans. Lieutenant Colonel of the US Army, graduate of Pitt University, honored in the following books: Who’s Who Amoung Black Americans, Community Leaders & Noteworthy Americans, Notable Americans, Men on Achievement, Three of the First Special Agents, US Treasury Dept and by the Kappa Alpha Psi 12th Ward, Lt Col George N Charlton Jr is noted as one of finest in community, church, fraternity, nation and country. At 87 years old, he is still going strong and attributes all to God, his parents and his devoted wife, Nadine H Charlton.
